Brentford manager Andy Scott has paid the price for poor results and lost his job.
The Bees, whose game at Sheffield Wednesday scheduled for February 19 has been postponed, endured a difficult start to the League One season but had appeared to be moving in the right direction as they hit form leading in to the festive period.
But since then they have hurtled back towards the relegation zone, with their last win coming at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on New Year’s Day.
Brentford have since suffered six defeats out of seven and are currently perched precariously just two points above the bottom four.
Scott vowed to keep fighting after Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to the Daggers but he has not been given the chance to revive the team’s fortunes.
He had been boss at Griffin Park for three years.
