Sheffield Eagles coach Mark Aston has shaken up the team for tonight’s match against Workington Town.

Four players come into the 17 with Aston’s teenage son Cory set to make his league debut off the bench.

“It’s a chance to freshen up the squad and have a look at a few people who have been pushing for a place,” said Aston. “We’ve got big games coming up and we need people to be ready.”

With the Eagles playing the second of three games in 10 days at Don Valley tonight, kick-off 7.30pm, Aston has rested hooker Andrew Henderson centre Tom Armstrong and winger Misi Taulapapa.

Eddie Battye comes in at prop for Liam Higgins who is serving a one-match ban after being sent off for fighting in the Rail Cup final. Winger Vinny Finigan plays his first game for nearly four months.

James Davey will be at hooker with Michael Knowles and Alex Szostak starting in the second row. Cory Aston, 18, who made his senior debut in the Challenge Cup earlier in the season is joined on the bench by forward Colton Roche.

Eagles can go clear at the top of the Championship if they complete the double over Workington tonight.
