Ryan fitness fight goes down to wire

IT will be touch and go for Ryan Taylor as Rotherham United prepare for their League Two clash of the day with second-placed Shrewsbury Town at Don Valley Stadium.

Taylor injured his groin at Oxford last week and manager Ronnie Moore said he remained doubtful but he was prepared to wait as long as possible. “The decision will be down to Ryan - he’ll know,” he said.

Ian Thomas-Moore, hamstring, will be out again and so too Ryan Cresswell who is possibly at least a week away after injuring his ankle.

Taylor’s absence on Tuesday was offset by loan signing Liam Henderson of whom Moore said: “After the day he had, the way he went out and performed showed character and a great attitude.

Moore said they were still waiting for a loan decision on right-back Danny Coid.
