STEVE Evans could be poised to finalise his first signings as Rotherham United manager as early as next week.
Evans has revealed that two potential signings - a striker and a right back - have already been taken round the New York Stadium and a couple more are lined up for a visit over the next few days.
“I like to get some of my signings done early and intend to get some sorted shortly,” Evans revealed at a packed Millers Trust Fans Forum last night.
“I’ve had a couple of players in for talks already and I’ve taken them to the New York Stadium so they can see what a fabulous place it is.
“This is going to be the sort of place players will want to be a part of.”
He said he has asked for answers from both players this weekend.
“We have been talking to players from a higher level than we are at and it will be up to them now if, after what they’ve seen and heard, they see this as the next step for them.”
To roars from the several hundred Millers fans attending, he said veteran goalkeeper Andy Warrington had signed a new contract and that Paul Warne would stay as part of the staff but no longer as a player.
