BOSS Steve Evans has spoken of his delight at capturing goalkeeper Scott Shearer as he continues his rebuilding at Rotherham United.
Shearer penned a two-year contract last night to become the Millers fifth summer signing, having turned down the chance to extend his stay at Crawley Town.
Of the 31-year-old Glasgow-born shot-stopper, Evans said: “There was some real competition for his signature. He had offers not just from Crawley, which he refused, but also from other managers, which include a couple from League One. The supporters will like him.”
