ROTHERHAM United are keeping their fingers crossed that Kari Arnason will be available for Saturday’s trip to Barnet.

The Iceland international is recovering from an ankle injury sustained on international duty and was absent again for Tuesday’s defeat by Rochdale, which was the fourth successive game he’s missed.

“He wasn’t ready but we’re hopeful for Saturday and keeping our fingers crossed,” said assistant manager Paul Raynor.

Midfielder David Noble returns to training today after being given additional time off following a clear-the-air meeting with manager Steve Evans this week.

He was unable to train last week with a virus and may not be deemed ready to resume.
