MANAGER Steve Evans says he is confident his players will turn their hurt into something positive as they prepare for Saturday’s big local derby at Chesterfield.

“They were hurting and down over the Northampton defeat because they most certainly didn’t deserve it but it’s the job of myself and my staff to pick them up,” said Evans.

“There is so much we can take from that performance and we can put it behind us and turn that hurt into something positive, something decisive when we go to Chesterfield for what we know will be another tough game.

“The performance at Northampton was, first 20 minutes apart, better than against Burton. I saw us having loads of possession and their keeper making four or five excellent saves. We can take a lot from that game to take forward.”

Evans said the display was better than anything they have produced since he came including the pre-season games and he said they would definitely take a lot of confidence from it.
