Rotherham United: Millers players ratings from the Cardiff City clash

Have your say

The Star’s Millers man, Paul Davis, gives his verdict on individual performances in the defeat to the Bluebirds.

Rotherham (4-4-1-1)

Lee Camp 6

Not a great deal for him to do. Blameless for the first goal, left helpless by a deflection for the second.

Darnell Fisher 7

One of the better performers. Rash decision-making at times but his athleticism is an asset.

Dael Fry 5

Big potential but struggling with the physicality of the Championship. Marvin Emnes last week, Rickie Lambert this time.

Kelvin Wilson 6

Goal-saving intervention on Lex Immers but the Millers need more from an experienced defender.

Joe Mattock 6

Steady display again. Kept Craig Noone pretty quiet. Worthy of his place.

Jon Taylor 6

Showed up well in flashes and put in some good crosses, but there was a lack of bodies in the box.

Lee Frecklington 6

Great to see the skipper back. Not his best game, although he never stopped running and challenging.

Greg Halford 5

Better than he was at Blackburn. Howitzer throw-ins. Too many off-target passes.

Joe Newell 7

Looked lively and offered decent delivery. Burst on to the ball a couple of times and Cardiff had to foul him.

Izzy Brown 7

Beats people with ease, beautiful weight and vision to his passing. Gave up possession a few times.

Danny Ward 6

Not his most productive day. Almost scored. Ben Amos did really well to tip his low shot away.

Dexter Blackstock

Almost made an instant impact on his debut after replacing Newell late on but his shot was blocked. Still working on his fitness.
