ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans says he wants any additions to his squad to be an ‘eyebrow-lifter’ in the dressing room.

Yesterday he achieved that when bringing in defender Craig Morgan who has played over 20 times for Wales and was transferred for £400,000 only two years ago.

“I don’t want to bring in players who are not as good as we’ve got and it is important that we are looking to be better, to improve all the time and provide competition for places,” said Evans.

Morgan had come out of contract at Preston who paid Peterborough £400,000 for him two years ago. “He is comfortable on the ball and a real competitor,” added Evans.

He should be in the squad for tonight’s JPT tie at home to York City (7.30pm).
