Rotherham United: Millers looking sharper

Rotherham United have got the improvement they were looking for this week and now look to step up another notch in their final game in Scotland tomorrow.

The performance at Livingston in Wednesday’s 2-0 win was clearly sharper with evidence of players stepping it up.

Manager Steve Evans, as he did in the goalless draw at Greenock Morton the previous night, made ten changes to the side at half-time thus ensuring that all the squad got at least 45 minutes on the respective nights and so, over the two nights, most got 90 minutes of action.

He may well adopt a similar strategy for the final game of their three-match Scottish tour tomorrow when they take on Ayr United - where Evans had a season as a player in the mid-80s making 30 appearances.

Left winger Courtney Cameron, who had a loan spell with the Millers last season from Aston Villa, has joined Alan Knill’s Torquay United. Ex-Millers right back Dale Tonge is also at Torquay.
