WHATEVER changes Rotherham United boss Steve Evans may be contemplating this week in the wake of last Saturday’s 6-2 defeat at Port Vale, he will certainly have pencilled in Kari Arnason for a recall.
That, of course, depends on him returning from World Cup qualifying duty with Iceland this week having recovered from the knock which forced him off last Saturday.
Arnason, playing in the back four, scored the first Iceland goal as they beat Norway for the first time in 11 meetings and 25 years by 2-0 in their World Cup qualifier.
However, four minutes into the second half, Arnason was replaced and he was an unused substitute for Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat away to Cyprus.
It meant an anxious wait for Millers boss Evans with the player due to report back with Rotherham this morning.
Arnason has been a stand-out player whether in midfield or at the back.
