ROTHERHAM United have agreed “in principle” to sign two new players on loan from a Championship club next week - but manager Steve Evans hopes the duo don’t get a look-in!

The Millers chief, who has allowed Jordan Slew and Courtney Cameron to return to their parent clubs following the expiry of their loan deals, said: “My chairman won’t want to hear these words but I hope they come in and don’t play. I hope they come and sit next to me.

“Look at Jordan. I thought he came in and made a real impact, but we changed it around and left him out and went with a different system. He was unable to get back in because of the performances of the team.”

One of the players is a striker. Evans said: “We’ve agreed, in principle, for two players to join on loan on Monday until the end of the season. They are proper first-team players and their names will speak for themselves.”

Rotherham, who could be without Claude Davis for tomorrow’s clash with Dagenham, have been linked with Middlesbrough pair Luke Williams and Adam Reach.
