Rotherham United are looking to bring in up to three new players before the transfer window closes.

Manager Steve Evans said after the match against Watford: “We need two or three more in. We’re not silly.

“We’re working hard to get two or three over the line. We’re close.

“Whether they can be done in time for the weekend, we’ll have to see. We’ve got a long time to deadline day.

“We’ve got different areas and different priorities.”

The club should know today the full extent of the injury suffered by midfield man Paul Green on Tuesday night.

Green had to be withdrawn after a second-half tackle by Keith Andrews that Evans described as “X-rated”.

“I’m taking with the benefit of having looked at it on replay and it’s a red card,” he said.

“We don’t know how bad it is until it’s been X-rayed and scanned.

“Paul’s been fantastic since he walked through the door.

“He’s a good professional and he’ll want to get fit as quickly as he can.”
