STEVE Evans reckons that Rotherham United could hardly have been handed a tougher cup task today but says his players will not be overawed, writes Les Payne.

“We have players here who have played at the level Hull are at at - and higher - and those who haven’t will be relishing it,” he said as his side prepared for their Capital One Cup tie away to the Championship club.

It’s Rotherham’s first visit to the KC Stadium and Evans said: “It’s a marvellous place to play and the surface is perfect so there’s everything to look forward to for our lads.”

Evans has to decide whether to start with Michael O’Connor who has had only one full 90 minutes in the entire pre-season, at Stamford on Tuesday.
