ROTHERHAM United are prepared to turn down big six-figure bids for Kari Arnason if clubs looking at the Iceland international firm up their interest in January.

Manager Steve Evans, confirming that they have already had clubs indicating they are prepared to splash out on Arnason, says chairman Tony Stewart has assured him they are not a selling club.

“If the chairman wants to take £700,000 for him, he can get it, but Kari is much better than that,” said Evans who recently talked of a value of £2 million. “The chairman has made it very clear he wants the best players here and he’s always been true to his word.”
