Chairman Tony Stewart has called on Rotherham United supporters to back their side in the three “cup finals” the club have left this season.

After today’s three-point Football League points deduction for fielding an ineligible player, the Millers are just one point above the Championship relegation zone.

With home matches coming up against Norwich City and Reading followed by an away trip to Leeds United. Stewart said: ““We’ve got three ‘cup finals’ that we all can play a part in.

“We’ve two colossal home games over the next few days. Tomorrow will be another sell-out at the AESSEAL New York Stadium and Tuesday evening against Reading is also looking like it will be another bumper attendance.

“We all know how the right atmosphere off the pitch can positively influence our players on it.”

Less than 250 tickets remain for tomorrow’s clash.

Rotherham now have 41 points - one more than Millwall, who occupy the third and final relegation spot, and two more than 23rd-placed Wigan Athletic - and have a game in hand on their survival rivals.

Stewart added: “A genuine appeal - come in your numbers, come in good voice, wear our club colours with immense pride and let’s all join as one for the final push.”
