The Millers had to settle for a point after throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Northampton.

Rotherham could not have made a better start, going 2-0 up after 19 minutes, but they were pegged back by two goals in a minute.

They were ahead after only three minutes. Nick Fenton's long, headed clearance was flicked on by Adam Le Fondre to Ryan Taylor, who turned his man on the edge of the penalty area and lifted his shot over Chris Dunn.

In the 19th minute, Marcus Marshall put the home side two up. His first shot was blocked but the ball went up in the air and was then headed out straight to Marshall who hit a first time shot past Dunn.

But Northampton pulled a goal back in the 23rd minute when Ryan Gilligan's hard, low free kick was turned in by Abdul Osman, and it took Town less than a minute to add a second.

They won the ball from the re-start and Gilligan's pass picked out Andy Holt inside the area, leaving him with only the goalkeeper to beat.

By comparison, the second half was pretty tame. Northampton had the best chance to win it when McKenzie was clean through but he shot straight at goalkeeper Jamie Annerson.
