Rotherham United, five points clear of the relegation zone, travelled to Blackpool hoping to widen that gap this afternoon.
The Seasiders kicked off bottom of the Championship, 10 points adrift of 21st placed Millwall and without suspended striker Ishmael Miller who was dismissed in the Boxing Day defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
Rotherham are unbeaten in the last five meetings between the two, winning three, and will hope to better the 1-1 draw at the New York Stadium in November.
And the Millers should have gone into the interval in front, having two thirds of the possession and missing a penalty.
In a bright start Emmanuel Ledesma had a shot saved by home keeper Lewis, and Ledesma then set up Tommy Lawrwence but his shot was blocked.
Another Lawrence effort was saved after Lee Frecklington put him through.
Rotherham continued to put on the pressure with Frecklington having a shot saved and Kari Arnason heading just wide.
But then the visitors missed a golden chance to take the lead.
Tommy Lawrence was brought down in the area in the 16th minute but Lewis saved the spot kick in the bottom right hand corner.
Rotherham continued to dominate with a Richard Smallwood effort being saved before he headed Lawrence clear for another chance just off target.
The Millers finally went in front in the 56th minute, Ledesma scoring from the centre of the box after a Lawrence assist. The scorer was then booked for excessive celebration and later replaced by sub Alex Revill.
Blackpool equalised in the 83rd minute through Dominic Telford - on as sub for Chris Eagles in the 65th minute - after a set piece situation.
Rotherham United: Collin; Wootton; Morgan; Arnason; James; Bowery; Frecklington; Smallwood; Ledesma; Lawrence; Clarke-Harris.
