ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott says the latest offer for Adam Le Fondre, believed to be from Sheffield Wednesday, was ‘not a considerable improvement’ on the previous bid.

“We’ll see if they come back with a better offer closer to our valuation, but Alf has been kept in the picture and his attitude throughout has been spot on,” said Scott.

Le Fondre is set to play in tomorrow’s opener at home to Chris Wilder’s Oxford United.

Scott added: “Clearly he wants to improve himself and play at a higher level and I’m sure at some stage he’ll be able to do that. But he knows it has got to be right for this club.”
