Millers in fear of Ryan setback

Have your say

ROTHERHAM United fear an extended lay-off for central defender Ryan Cresswell.

Troubled by an ankle problem which has seen him sidelined out of the first-team picture for the past eight matches, Cresswell has had another scan and now the next step is to be decided.

Recently, manager Andy Scott expressed his fears that surgery was among the options that may have to be contemplated.

Guy Branston returns to the side following his three-match ban for this afternoon’s home game with Aldershot in place of the injured Michael Raynes who is likely to be out for a couple of weeks with nerve problem affecting his calf.

Branston - who wasn’t sent off at all last season and had a much-improved disciplinary record at Torquay - was red-carded on what was his “second” Millers debut. He initially left the club in 2004.
