STEVE Evans, the Rotherham United manager, is urging supporters to stick with the 13th-placed Millers as he is convinced they will get stronger as the season unfolds.
“It takes six months to gell a team,” insisted Evans, who will be back in the dugout at Aldershot Town tomorrow for the first time in six weeks following the completion of his six-match stadium ban.
“I said in July if we are in the play-off group as we turn into January we will get promoted automatically. I still believe that.”
Evans, has confirmed the club agreed a deal to sign MK Dons striker Ryan Lowe earlier this week but the ex-Sheffield Wednesday forward turned down the move.
The Millers boss has also accused Southend United, who triumphed 3-0 at the New York Stadium, of gamesmanship after they inquired about midfielder Jason Taylor.
“We were due to play Southend. We have all played that game and phoned up for a player a few days before we play them to try and put a bomb in their camp,” he said.
“They must think I’m Donald Duck. After the way he played, I don’t think they’d want him anyway would they?”
