JELLY babies and pizza are among the matchday ingredients being used to boost Rotherham United’s promotion drive.
The Millers players have been seen munching on pizza slices as they emerged from the dressing room after recent pre-season friendlies.
“It is important that, straight after games, they get something inside them,” said manager Andy Scott.
“They have energy shakes, electrolyte drinks, to replace all the fluids and salts they lose but it is important within 90 minutes of a game to get something inside them rather than the body start eating away at their fatty reserves.
“So, they have been having something after matches and it doesn’t matter what they eat but they need to have something.
“At half-time, they will have such such as jelly babies, sugary sweets which give a quick energy burst as they prepare for the second half.”
