It was an ill-timed postponement for Rotherham United when the game at Colchester last Saturday was rained off.
They would have still been on a high and poised to push on after the nature of the previous week’s win over Orient.
A full squad bar one was available to Steve Evans and it is certainly a stronger-looking squad than it was a month ago.
What it probably needs now is some sort of stability so that this group of players can settle, gel, get everyone knowing each other’s game and move forward.
There are still players settling in (Richie Smallwood, Miles Addison, Tom Hitchcock, Wes Thomas, Nicky Adams). They’ve only a handful of appearances between them.
Then there’s James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic who are also relatively new. All of those, together with those longer established, must still be getting to fully know each other out where it matters.
