The Millers head to Solihull Moors on Monday for their televised second round clash, by which time they will know their potential opponents in the next round.

A big tie is on offer as the Premier League big guns come into the draw and Warne is allowing himself to think that far ahead, even though he still has nightmares about last season.

His side were paired with Manchester City last January and went down to a 7-0 hammering at the Etihad Stadium, with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez in the line-up.

Warne is attempting to do what only Steve Evans has done once since 1997-98 and take the club from the first round of the FA Cup to the third.

“The third round, everyone wants to get to for obvious reasons,” Warne said.

“If you can get your name into the hat for the third round you are cooking.

“We are not notoriously a great team in the FA Cup. We are trying to get this side together and winning games.

“If we can get there we don't know who you're going to get. Tottenham would be good, half the lads want them, especially now Jose (Mourinho) is there, that would be selfies going on all over the place.

“It gives you the opportunity to dream. Or if you can get a lesser side in the third round then you can go again.

“But we go there fully understanding how hard it will be and expecting a tough game.”

Former England international Tim Flowers will be in the opposite dugout on Monday night and Warne is impressed with the job he has done at the National League club.

“I don't know if I played against him,” Warne added.

“I must have come up against him at Blackburn when he was a member of staff, but I don't remember having a conversation with him.

“It is quite unique, he has done very well, he is well-supported, which helps when you build a team.

“He has got a lot of players, a big squad and a lot of payers who played professional football.

“They are a proper outfit and hopefully for them they will get into the Football League next year.”
