Rotherham United; Paul Warne's stance on interest from other clubs as Barnsley cast a glancing eye

The Millers' South Yorkshire rivals are looking for a new manager after dispensing of promotion-winner Daniel Stendel earlier this week and Warne is among the bookmakers' favourites to replace the German at Oakwell.

There is nothing in it as far as Warne is concerned, insisting he has not heard anything from the Reds.

“There has been no contact, there never is,” Warne told the Star.

“I am always in the betting, I think for my boyish good looks, but no contact.

I love my job here to be fair, I am not one of those who touts myself about, I don't have an agent, I don't have someone throwing my name around.

“I am happy doing my job for as long as they want me and then as soon as they don't want me, every job looks amazing.

“But I mean this sincerely, at this moment in time I am enjoying it here so I have no reason to look elsewhere.”

Warne's focus is on continuing to build some momentum when his side head to Blackpool on Saturday.

The Millers hammered high-flying Coventry 4-0 last week, but have yet to post back-to-back League One wins this campaign.

They will travel to the seaside town without record signing Freddie Ladapo, who has a hamstring niggle, but Liam Lindsay (ankle) is fit.

“Lindsay should be fine, Freddie I am not so sure on,” Warne added. “He has got pain in both hamstrings, which potentially is good news, because it is possibly something to do with his nerves, so it is not such a big deal.

“Hopefully he won't be out for a long period of time. This weekend might be a bit too soon.”

Warne has a decision to make on whether to include Kyle Vassell and Chiedozie Ogbene, who are both coming back from hamstring injuries.

“They are pretty close, they both trained on Thursday so it is risk and reward with them, whether we decide to take them or not,” the boss said.

“They are both excellent players and will play a massive part going forward, but if I put them in 10 minutes too early and they break down I would never forgive myself.

“I will meet the physios and have a real good chat about where we are going.”
