Here, the Star takes a look at the Millers' wretched run of key injuries this season.

Chiedozie Ogbene

The flying winger was the first to go down as he suffered knee ligament damage in training in September. Ogbene had made a bright start to the campaign and was coming under the watching eye of scouts when the injury happened. He had to have surgery to repair the problem and is not expected back before January.

Robertson's Millers career has been defined by injury and he suffered another blow during an innocuous challenge during the defeat to Norwich last month. Scans showed he had broken a metatarsal and also went under the knife. He too is not expected back before January.

Shaun MacDonald

The bad news kept coming for boss Paul Warne after losing the highly influential MacDonald for a period of up to two months. The midfielder broke his leg when he landed awkwardly after an aerial challenge in the game at Stoke. He did not need surgery but is stuck in a pot for six weeks before his rehabilitation can start.

Kieran Sadlier

Sadlier was given his chance back in Warne's team against Preston on Saturday but he lasted just 23 minutes before suffering ligament damage in his ankle. The club are waiting to see if he will need an operation but they are not expecting him until early February.

Other absentees

Loan goalkeeper Jamal Blackman has gone back to parent club Chelsea during the international break for treatment on an ankle issue, Billy Jones has several weeks out due to a knee complaint while Joe Mattock, who already missed two games due to being in self-isolation, has a hamstring issue.
