The most famous competition in the world is not one the Millers have had much success in in recent seasons.

Here, the Star takes a look at their poor record.

Rotherham went a miserable seven years without winning an FA Cup game between 2002 and 2009.

During that run they lost to a lower-league team on five occasions, including to three non-league opposition.

It has not got much better since as from 2009 they have only won six games.

Six wins in 19 years tells its own story about their record in the competition.

Their run to the third round last campaign was just the second time they had won more than one game in a season since 2000/01.

City hammering

The last time the Millers were drawn against Premier League opposition in the third round was two years ago and it was the toughest of the lot.

They were handed a tie at Manchester City and although it was a day out for the fans, it was a chastening one for the players as they went down to a 7-0 defeat against a strong City side.

Back on Merseyside

It is 20 years since Rotherham's third round defeat to Liverpool.

There was a much better feeling about things when Ronnie Moore's men headed over the M62 as they were in the midst of a promotion campaign.

They put up a good first-half showing against the Reds before Gerard Houllier brought Steven Gerard and Emile Heskey on and Liverpool went on to win 3-0.

Paul Warne, who played for the Millers that day, takes his side to the other half of Merseyside on Saturday.
