Relegation battle is main focus but scouting for talent is '˜constant process' for Caldwell

Gary Caldwell's admits that while he's keeping the main thing the main thing and concentrating on the relegation battle, he's also constantly on the lookout for new talent.

“I think it has to be a constant process,” said the Chesterfield boss who is celebrating a month in the job this week.

“Your focus goes on what is most important and winning games is the most important issue at the minute.

“But I still go to games, I was at Manchester United and Newcastle United Under 18s on Friday night.

“Any game I feel I can go and pick up something, whether it be a young player or see something within a game, I’ll go and do that when the time is right.

“But every other moment is spent on winning games, making sure players are prepared and ready to do that.”
