Sheffield FC, playing their first home game since November, came from behind to beat Dinnington Town 2-1, thanks to Andy Taylor (pen) and an injury-time winner from Junior Ndlovu. Stocksbridge Park, who beat Oughtibridge 2-0 in midweek, Danny Joynes at the double, followed up with another 2-0 triumph at South Kirkby Colliery, Joynes again on-target and man of the match Wayne Hughes also netting.
Two strikes from Gavin Allott earned Millmoor Juniors a maximum at Davy FC, Oughtibridge did better against Ecclesfield Red Rose, a single hit from Matt Spencer earning them the points, while High Green Villa, knocked out of the League Cup by Sheffield in midweek, followed their 4-1 loss with a 1-1 tie with Caribbean.
Handsworth, with five changes, had to come from 2-0 down to beat Thorpe Hesley 4-3 in Division One, goals from Alex Rippon, Darren Robinson, Jordan Stocks and teenager Lanzel Reed, the victory giving them promotion to the top flight.
Frecheville beat Worsbrough Bridge 4-3, Danny Bainbridge adding a brace to his tally, and Wickersley were 4-0 winners against Frickley Colliery, Jordan Lowe hitting a pair. Sheffield Athletic beat Silkstone Common 4-0,while Penistone Church shared points in a 1-1 deadlock with Worsbrough Common. The Division Two leaders Houghton Main hammered Clowne Wanderers 6-1 and Millmoor Juniors Reserves completed a club double with a 3-1 triumph over Sheffield Bankers.
Athersley Rec. meet Houghton Main in the second of the League Cup semi-finals at the Penistone Church ground on Thursday, (7.30 pm,) the winners to meet Sheffield FC at Stocksbridge Park in the Cup Final, on April 14, (7.45 pm.)
