The high flying Blades have sold out their allocation of tickets for the game against the Spireites.

And superintendent Jim Allen, police commander for the match, is urging ticketless Blades to stay away.

He said: “We would urge fans not to travel as there will be no available tickets for our friends visiting from Sheffield.

“This exciting local derby attracts a lot of interest and we will work hard to ensure it is a safe and enjoyable occasion for both sets of supporters.”

The police have vowed to provide a reassuring and welcoming presence in the town on Sunday.

“We are never complacent and we will deploy officers at key locations to prevent and deal with any incidents,” he said.

“Our approach will be friendly and engaging.

“This is a significant operation for Derbyshire Constabulary and we will be joined on the operation by colleagues from both British Transport and South Yorkshire Police.”

Sniffer dogs trained to search for drugs and pyrotechnics will be on duty.

And Supt. Allen has reminded fans of the historical significance of the day.

“We want fans of both clubs to enjoy the whole day. We would ask that they take responsibility for their actions and those that choose to, drink responsibly.

“The game also falls on Remembrance Sunday, and Sheffield and Chesterfield have a proud tradition of supporting our armed forces that has special significance for many whom are attending. Our message is clear. Be loud, be proud but behave.”
