NORTHERN Counties East League club Parkgate head for one end of the country tomorrow hoping it will lead them to a road that takes them to the opposite end!

They are off to Durham to face Shildon in their previously postponed FA Vase third round tie.

The winners will then get a trip to the West Country in the fourth round, the last 32, to play Bitton, near Bristol.

Shildon play in Division One of the Northern League which, in terms of football’s pyramid, is equivalent to Parkgate’s place in the Premier Division of the NCEL.

Bitton are at the equivalent level in the Western League Premier Division.

Should Parkgate earn a draw tomorrow then they would replay at Green Lane on Tuesday.

The other local club remaining in the Vase are AFC Emley who are already through to the fourth round. They will be at home to Suffolk club Hadleigh United from the Eastern Counties League on January 19.

Permission has been granted by the Northern Counties East League for a kick off switch on Boxing Day for the local derby clash between Maltby Main and Parkgate. It will now be at 11am.
