Substitute Nathan Tyson scored a second-half hat-trick as Chesterfield thrashed Ebbsfleet United 4-0 at the Proact.

Here are our player ratings from the game:

Shwan Jalal 7

Didn’t have much to do in either half but took the pressure of the defence by claiming a number of crosses and corners and will be happy with his clean sheet.

Jordan Cropper 7

A steady performance by the right wing-back. Got forward often in the first-half and his long throw caused problems for Ebbsfleet.

Josef Yarney 8

Played on the right of a back three and had his best game in a Town shirt for while. He was strong, solid and better in possession than in previous weeks. Played a part in the fourth goal.

Will Evans 8

Appears to be gaining confidence by the week under Pemberton. Kept things simple and won his headers and tackles.

Haydn Hollis 8

A rock. He was always in the right place and nothing got past him. His positioning was excellent.

David Buchanan 8

Another good display by the left-back. His corners led to chances all afternoon and Tyson got his second goal when he nodded one in.

A tough match for him and Jonathan Smith to get on the ball because of the conditions but he managed to grab his sixth goal of the season in the 90th minute. Two in two for him now.

Jonathan Smith 7

Did not see much of the ball in the first-half although he did go close with one shot from the edge of the box. Provided the assist for Weston’s goal.

Liam Mandeville 7

Played just behind Fondop and Denton and looked to try and link the play when he could. It was a scrappy game and the ball was in the air a lot of the time but he did well. Replaced by Weir with 20 minutes to go.

Mike Fondop 6

A frustrating afternoon for the striker. Nothing would come off for him and he was subbed for Tyson just before the hour-mark.

Tom Denton 7

Worked hard for the team and got the assist for Tyson’s first goal. Struck up a good partnership with Tyson when he came on.

Nathan Tyson 10

Can’t do much more than score a 23-minute hat-trick off the bench to win your team the game can you? He replaced Fondop on 57 minutes and scored three minutes later. His first goal oozed quality as he controlled the ball, swivelled and popped it in the top corner. His second was a near post header from Buchanan’s corner and he took his third expertly as he turned his marker on the halfway line, beat him for pace and finished cooly. He is the first player to score a hat-trick for Chesterfield when coming on as a sub. It was his sixth career hat-trick and his first goals for the Spireites.

Robbie Weir 6

Came on for Mandeville with 20 minutes to go with Chesterfield winning 1-0 and played his part in the win.

Scott Boden N/A

Was only on the field six minutes but he played a part in the fourth goal as he dummied Smith’s cross for Weston to finish.
