Nutter in four-goal spree as Carcroft crash 7-2

CRAIG Mitchell bagged a brace as Mexborough Town ended a lean spell in the Doncaster Senior League Premier Division with a 4-0 home victory over Kinsley Boys.

Liam Winfield and Joshua Moore also got in on the act.

Champions Sutton Rovers (Luke Chambers) were held 1-1 at Rossington Main, for whom Scott Spencer netted.

Two goals from Tom Salt helped Bramley Sunnyside defeat Denaby United 3-1. Scott Hayes also netted with Jason Astphall replying.

Steve Nutter was on target four times as South Elmsall United Services romped to a 7-2 win over Carcroft Village. Martin Walsh (2) and Adam Wolfe also chipped in.

Shafton Villa registered a 4-1 success at Bawtry Town to retain top spot. Lee Bennett notched a hat-trick for the winners with Chris Thawley also netting. Sam Webster scored both Carcroft goals.

Daniel Burton and Gareth Lewins were the Hemsworth Town marksmen in their 2-1 win over Scawthorpe and Bentley Rhinos, for whom Wayne Lindley pulled a goal back.

Hemsworth MW took over top spot in Division One with a 9-0 triumph at Bawtry Town Reserves. Paul Cooper helped himself to four of the goals with Neil Pickersgill, Ben Clacker, Ryan Clark and Graham Phillips, completing the rout.

They leapfrogged South Kirkby Town, who went down 3-2 at home to Harworth Colliery - Craig Hobson and Ricky Gaskell being the Town scorers.

Denaby Main accounted for Dunscroft United 6-1. Brandan Adcock, Chris Hancock and Tom O’Neill all scoring twice with Carl Grant replying.

A brace of goals by Dwayne Wiley helped Rovers Foundation come out on top 3-2 at Swinton Athletic. James Bytheway also got in on the act.

Declan Bacon was twice on target for Westwoodside Rangers in their 3-1 victory over Newton Arms. Craig Fletcher completed their tally. Tom Cherry bagged the Newton consolation.

Defences controlled the exchanges when ISG Doncaster entertained Scawthorpe Scorpions in a game which ended in a goalless draw.
