Sheffield FC: Local clubs take more snow hits

Have your say

AFTER its whiteout wipeout last Saturday, local football is bracing itself for more mass postponements with the midweek programme already falling victim.

Sheffield FC were due to entertain North Ferriby tonight in the Evo-Stik Doodson Sport League Cup but yesterday’s snow and freezing temperatures have put it on hold.

The Northern Counties East League yesterday gave clubs permission to make early decisions where it is obvious snow and ice will prevent midweek games going ahead and so tonight’s list soon fell victim.

The local derby tonight between Armthorpe and Parkgate - one of three League Cup ties involving local clubs - was an early casualty. So too ties involving Dinnington and Worksop Parramore.
