Parkgate end long winless run

Parkgate came from behind twice to win for the first time in 14 league games beating neighbours Armthorpe Welfare 3-2 away.

Stuart Preston gave the home side a 32nd minute lead, knocking in the rebound after Richard Watson had saved from a free-kick.

The Steelmen equalised on 52 minutes, Scott Preece pouncing on a rebound after keeper Will Biggs did well to keeper out a fierce Tom Foltyn-Brown shot. Darren Mansaram restored the hosts’ lead 10 minutes later from a tight angle but Preece’s second had Parkgate level again with a terrific strike into the top corner. With just six minutes left on the clock substitute Adam Houghton headed in at a corner for the winner.

Hallam as they suffered a 3-2 home defeat against Yorkshire Amateur after having Julian Laurance harshly sent-off on 25 minutes. The defender was dismissed despite appearing to win the ball as an Ammers forward went through on goal. Manager Chris Sellars was also sent to the stands by the match official early in the second half after becoming frustrated by a number of contentious decisions.

Paul Lavender gave the Countrymen a 19th minute lead with a neat finish. After the break defensive errors saw Curtis Bernard with a header and Craig Heard put the visitors 2-1 up on 67 minutes. Substitute Lee Dexter with a superb 18-yard low drive on 86 minutes looked to have rescued a point only for another slip to let in Jasslim Alalli for the winner deep in stoppage time.

Maltby Main beat struggling Nostell MW 3-1 despite having Nicky Darker sent-off. Adrian Morris gave the Miners the lead on 11 minutes and although the visitors equalised three minutes from the interval, two second half goals from Rob Branagan made it seven wins on the trot.

Staveley MW came away from Tadcaster Albion with an excellent 1-1 draw thanks to Pat Lindley’s 88th minute equaliser.

Worksop Parramore extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 1-1 draw at Garforth Town.

Lee Whittington had given the visitors a 59th minute’s lead with a tremendous 20-yard strike but Curtley Martin-Wyatt levelled for Garforth 17 minutes from time.

Danny Wood struck on 65 minutes to give Dronfield Town a 1-0 win at Dinnington Town as the visitors made it just one defeat from six.

Shaw Lane Aquaforce remain top of Division One despite a 3-2 defeat at second-placed Cleethorpes Town. Danny Frost with a19th minute penalty equaliser for the visitors then Danny Barlow pulling one back two minutes from time after the hosts had gone 3-1 up.

Rossington Main were well beaten 6-1 at Hall Road Rangers where Niall Doyle hit the visitors’ consolation effort.
