Stocksbridge Park Steels misery continued with a 4-3 defeat at Stamford last night.
The home side went in front on 20 minutes through Alvin Jarvis before Steels hit back to take a 2-1 lead into the interval thanks to a superbbrace from Nathan Joynes, which included a 36th minute penalty.
Steels made a disastrous start to the second half conceding two goals inside the opening 10 minutes. Shaun Richards put Stamford back on level terms on 53 minutes with David Moyo making it 3-2 two minutes later from close range.
Stocksbrdge equalised on 70 minutes when Stephen Hoyle converted a Joynes cross just two minutes after coming off the bench. Only for Moyo to grab Stamford’s winner nine minutes from time.
Worksop Town ended a run of three home league defeats on the spin with an emphatic 5-0 win against Stafford Rangers after goals from Tom Dento, Conor Higginson, Jack Muldoon, Leon Mettam and Phil Roe.
In the Northern Counties East League, Maltby Main took the bragging rights in the local derby at Parkgate winning 3-0 after first half goals from George Conway, Callum Black and Brain Cusworth, while Worksop Parramore won 4-2 at Barton Town OB.
