Non League: Parramore fightback stuns Welfare

Worksop Parramore scored twice inside the last six minutes as Russ Eagle’s men came from 3-2 down at Sandy Lane to defeat Armthorpe Welfare 4-3.

The Amber Parras got off to a great start when Lee Whittington fired them into a second minute lead. Armthorpe hit back to equalise on 29 minutes through Ben Muirhead.

Parity lasted a mere four minutes as Jordan Eagers netted a fine 20-yard effort. Back came the visitors once more when Jay Rollins speculative effort caught Hernandez stranded.

With 17 minute remaining Armthorpe went in front with Muirhead grabbing his second of the game.

It was Parramore’s turn to hit back as Whittington grabbed his second of the game nodding in from close range on 84 minutes to level things up once more before substitute Lee Hill headed home the winner in stoppage time.

Parkgate slipped to a fourth straight defeat in league and cup and were beaten 2-0 at Long Eaton United with Daniel Gordon and Adam Burton scoring either side of the break.

Maltby Main were made to pay for missing a host of first half chances as Albion Sports snatched the points at Muglet Lane in a 2-0 victory through a Daniel Facey 80th minute header and Joe Austin’s stoppage time own-goal.

Athersley Recreation suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 4-2 at home against Thackley despite Joe Thornton and Jamie Sutton putting the hosts two up.

Retford United remain top of the Premier Division table after coming from a goal down to beat Pickering Town 2-1 to maintain their perfect start to the season.

Hallam slipped to their first defeat of the season at Louth Town. Danny Steven gave the home side and early lead from the penalty spot but Nicky Owen scored his second goal in as many games to level before the break only for Jason Flint to score what proved to be the winner.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic extended their unbeaten start to four games by recording a 3-2 victory at Rossington Main.
