Handsworth Parramore came away from Clipstone 2-0 winners to take their unbeaten league run to five games, whilst condemning the hosts to a first league defeat in eight.

The Ambers made a good start, with Keiran Wells and Jon Froggatt going close, before they finally made the breakthrough five minutes before the break.

Wells set up his strike partner Froggatt to sweep the ball home from six yards for his 18th goal of the campaign.

The busy Wells then had goal ruled out for offside right at the start of the second half, while Gareth Griffiths saw his effort pushed over the crossbar.

The second goal Handsworth had been looking for to wrap up the points duly arrived in the 81st minute, Alex Rippon having the simple task of putting the ball into an unguarded net from Froggatt’s astute pass.

Worksop Town returned to winning ways after losing the last three outings on the spin, with a comfortable 5-1 home win against struggling Armthorpe Welfare.

Conor Brunt scored twice, and Dan Booth, Adam Scott and substitute Jonathan Fusco also on target.

Penistone Church stay a point clear at the top, after taking their unbeaten start to 12 games with a 3-2 win at Yorkshire Amateur.
