Handsworth Parramore brought their losing home run to an end in dramatic fashion with a late, late show against Athersley Recreation.

Jas Colliver came from a goal down with two strikes in the dying minutes, halting a run of three consecutive defeats at home in league and cup competition.

Ryan White's 25 yard strike after 12 minutes looked to have been enough to give Athersley all three points.

However Lee Cooksey pounced on a loose ball to equalise three minutes from time.

And it got even better for Handsworth when Jonathan Williams headed in a Danny Buttle cross on the stroke of full time.

“We showed a lot of character after a poor first half,” said Handsworth boss Colliver.

Penistone Church climbed up to fifth after extending their unbeaten league run to five games with a 2-0 home win against Liversedge.

Danny Howes opening the scoring on 31 minutes, tucking the ball home despite pressure from a defender.

Veteran Andy Ring grabbed the all-important second on the hour with a well placed shot from just inside the box.

Armthorpe Welfare went down to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Selby Town after Jordan Buckham had put the back on level terms just after the hour.

AFC Emley drew 2-2 at East Yorkshire Carnegie with Ruben Jerome hitting a later equaliser after Dan Stocker had given the Pewits an early lead
