Sheffield FC certainly like to be beside the seaside as Ian Whithorne’s men made it three wins on the spin in league and cup with a 3-1 victory at Scarborough Athletic last night.

Sheffield snatched the lead two minutes before the break, Mark Fereday adding to his growing reputation with another goal.

Scarborough hit back to equalise on 53 minutes when Brian Hughes beat Ahmed to a high ball.

However, it was Sheffield who took the spoils with two goals in quick succession late in the game. James Gregory rifled in to restore the lead on 79 minutes with Andy Gascoigne netting with a looping header three minutes later.

Stocksbridge Park Steels slipped to a second defeat in four days going down 3-2 at Grantham Town.

Will Senior gave Steels the lead and Danny South also scored.

Frickley Athletic were beaten 2-1 at home by FC United of Manchester.

In the NCEL, Parkgate were beaten 2-1 at home by Lincoln Moorlands.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic went down 3-1 at home to Yorkshire Amateur while AFC Emley were beaten 1-0 at home by Selby Town.
