Hallam fall to late goals

HALLAM lost for only the second time in seven home league matches going down 3-1 despite taking the lead against Baris NCEL Division One promotion hopefuls Pontefract Collieries.

The Blues made the breakthrough on 25 minutes when Liam Morris found space just outside the box to strike a low shot into the bottom corner for his seventh goal of the season. However, the visitors levelled 10 minutes later when Grieg McGrory swept home a low cross.

Hallam looked on course for a point until McGrory struck again in the 85th minutes knocking home from close range as Lewis Naylor in the Hallam goal had made a good save. Two minutes later the visitors grabbed a third when the unfortunate Matt Darlow turned a cross into his own-net.

In the Evo-Stik Premier Division, Frickley Athletic beat North Ferriby United 1-0 at Westfield Lane, while Matlock Town drew 1-1 at Stafford Rangers.
