Friendly way of staying sharp

Have your say

FOR a second weekend in a row non-league football was hit by the Arctic blast with the entire Baris Northern Counties league fixtures postponed through a combination of snow and frozen pitches.

And Evo-Stick league teams Sheffield FC and Stocksbridge Park Steels have arranged friendly games this week in a bid to keep match fitness levels up weather permitting.

Sheffield are to play Blues Square North side Gainsborough Trinity at Dronfield tomorrow (7.30pm), while Stocksbridge will hopefully brush off the cobwebs against Maltby Main at Muglet Lane on the same evening (7.45pm).

Staveley Miners Welfare’s last 16 FA Vase tie against Oadby Town at Inkersall Road was also a victim of the cold snap. It has now been re-scheduled for this Wednesday (7.45pm).

TOMORROW - Evo-Stik League Doodson Sport Cup Quarterfinal: Frickley Athletic v FC United of Manchester.Baris NCEL Premier Division: Nostell MW v Armthorpe Welfare

WEDNESDAY - FA Vase Fifth Round: Staveley MW v Oadby Town.
