FORMER Rotherham United players Martin McIntosh and Ian Banks could be contenders for the vacant manager’s chair at Evo-Stik Premier club Stocksbridge Park Steels.

McIntosh, aged 40, was sacked by Worksop in September and is thought to have expressed an interest. Banks, who also played for Barnsley and was assistant boss at Chesterfield, is at Eccleshill United.

Other candidates include ex-Steels defender Gary Middleton,(Maltby Main) Chris Willcock (ex Woodley Sports) and former Sheffield FC manager Chris Dolby.
