NON League Hallam FC may have found their dream strike-force just at the right time as they make a late bid for promotion.
Manager Julian Watts brought Aaron Moxam to the club in November, and since pairing him with Liam Morris, the duo have netted an incredible 16 times in nine games.
“For me they’re two of the best strikers in the league” said Watts.
“If you see the interplay between them they’ve got a great understanding.
“Just watching them play it’s like they’ve been playing together for two or three years, and the goals they’ve been scoring shows just how good they’ve been.”
Moxam, although behind Morris in the scoring charts, is proving to be a lucky charm for the club, scoring in each of the last six games that his side have picked up points. “I’ve changed the formation because the two of them are so good together! I was playing with a lone striker, but they’ve made me change it,” continued the delighted manager.
Hallam are currently tenth in the NEC League but with a string of six home games coming up next month, Watt is confident of a surge up the table.
“We’ve got a cracking squad of players that are all pulling in the same direction and we’ve got some good games coming up that we can get on a run with.”
Watt’s men hammered Appleby Frodingham 4-1 last time out, and he sees their clash with Worsbrough Bridge on Saturday as a chance to start building some momentum.
“There’s a lot more togetherness in the squad now than at the start of the season, which is really noticeable.
“There’s never an easy three points, but against Worsbrough on Saturday, with our form, it’s a great chance now to get a run together.”
