Cooper on the Mark in Main Cup triumph

MARK Cooper was the four-goal star of Yorkshire Main’s 8-0 romp at Hatfield Main in their Doncaster Senior League FA Challenge Cup second round tie.

The Central Midlands side scored four times in each half with Adam Watson notching a hat-trick and Curtis Walker also netting.

There was a surprise at Rossington Main where the home side went down 3-2 against Doncaster Deaf.

A goal down after five minutes, South Kirkby Colliery A came back to beat Ackworth United 3-1. Jimmy Faulkner levelled before the break with Adam Bailey and Adrian Howe turning the tables on the resumption.

Premier Division leaders, AFC Sportsman Rovers, increased their lead at the top of the table to ten points after a 3-1 success over Yorkshire Main. Paul Hemmingway bagged a brace with Andrew Wood also getting in on the act. Chris Freeman scored the Main consolation.

Bawtry Town drew 3-3 with Swinton Station Athletic with all the goal coming in the first half-hour. Matthew Malak, Joshua Blenkiron and Joshua Jones were the Town marksmen, Defences dominated exchanges when Maltby MW hosted Sutton Rovers, resulting in a goalless draw.

Christopher Dyson, Adam Harle and Lee Hayes, scored for Edlington Town in their 3-2 win over Retford Town, for whom Dan House and Lee Garner netted. A brace by Gary Hodgson earned Adwick Park Rangers A a 2-2 draw with FC Thorne Town. Honours were shared in the derby between South Elmsall United Services and Kinsley Boys,

Bramley Sunnyside confirmed their top spot in Division One with a 10-3 triumph at South Kirkby Colliery B. An own goal helped FC Tavern account for Upton Brookside 5-1. Gary Hawker, Chris Myers, Darren Brown and Brett Thomas shared out the other goals.

Carcroft Village beat Adwick Park Rangers B 3-0 courtesy of goals by Kieron Bridges, Sam Corner and Joe Fisher. Travellers beat Hemsworth 2-0.

Edlington Rangers drew 2-2 with Bawtry Town Reserves. Mark Barkham and Stuart Clark struck for Rangers with Robert Hollinger and Roger Bows ensuring Bawtry a share of the spoils.

A Stefan Ostrowski goal earned ISG Doncaster a 1-1 draw at Hemsworth Town.
