Hallam will have to wait a little longer for their first home win of the season after being held to a 1-1 draw by Yorkshire Amateur.

Julian Watts’ side have taken just two points from the first four games at Sandygate Road but will be left wondering how they didn’t come away from this one with maximum points.

The Ammers took an 11th minute lead through a close-range Ross Marriott tap-in from a pull-back.

It was the visitors’ only real chance of the first half, while Hallam created yet failed to convert a hatful of openings. Liam Morris fired wide when well placed, Andy Carter saw his effort blocked by the keeper after being in on goal, while Tom Mitchell headed another chance over the bar.

It looked like it was going to be a frustrating afternoon until the 73rd minute when Hallam finally grabbed a deserved equaliser.

The visitors conceded a needless penalty when Ben Cobley was brought down just inside the area as he raced to retrieve a corner. And Cobley picked himself up to put away the spot kick sending the keeper the wrong way.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic extended their unbeaten home record to six games with a 3-2 win over third-place Cleethorpes Town.

Scott Turner gave the Briggers a 16th minute lead and although Tim Lowe equalised seven minutes after the break, Martyn Scully on 50 minutes then Lee Anthony seven minutes from time put the home side 3-1 up. Marc Cooper pulled one back in the 89th minute.

Dinnington Town crashed to a 4-1 home defeat against promotion-chasing Louth Town where Liam Cartledge hit Town’s consolation effort in the final minute.

Athersley Recreation remain four points clear at the top of Division One after coming from a goal down to win 2-1 at AFC Emley.

Ashley Flynn gave the home side a 23rd minute lead but two goals from Jason Bentley inside the last 15 minutes saw Athersley come out on top.

It was honours even in the local derby as Rossington Main and Askern Villa drew 1-1. Mel Cotton headed Villa into a 43rd minute lead, but after having had Dean Thornton sent-off early in the second half 10-man, Rossington hit back to level through Nathan Fraser’s 69th minute chip.

Parkgate slipped to a fifth league defeat in the last six going down 3-1 at home against Barton Town OB. The visitors were 3-0 up just after the hour mark leaving Ryan Johnson’s 77th strike no more than consolation effort.

Promotion chasing Worksop Parramore won 2-0 at Heanor Town thanks to first half goals from Simon Mirfin inside the first minute and Lee Holmes five minutes before the break.

Staveley MW won a high scoring game 6-3 at Arnold Town with goals from Scott McGory, Chris Youlden and a Joe Thornton hat-trick along with an own-goal.

Maltby Main lost out 2-1 to a stoppage time goal at Brighouse Town after Craig Gladwin had given the Miners a 23rd minute lead.

Callum Smith and Darren Mansaram scored for 10-man Armthorpe Welfare in a 3-2 defeat at Glasshoughton Welfare.

Retford United were held 1-1 at home by rock bottom Lincoln Moorlands Railway. Danny Frost gave United a 40th minute lead then missed a 72nd minute penalty, which proved costly as Lincoln equalised five minutes from time.
