Champions’ kids side will grace Sandygate

Manchester City U18s side will play a pre-season game at Hallam FC on July 16.

Roberto Mancini’s staff will bring the club’s youngsters to the birthplace of football to showcase their style.

After Hallam’s 14th place finish last season, the NCE side will be pressing for a higher place this time around.

Hallam’s will also face sides from Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United on July 24 and August 2 respectively.

The pick of Dinnington Town’s pre-season preparation games will see them face both Wednesday and Rotherham United on July 10 and 27.

Across the city, Sheffield FC, under new manager Curtis Woodhouse, the former Blades player, will face Play-off semi-final winners Ilkeston (August 4), Dronfield Town (August 3) and Sheffield Wednesday (July 17).

Evo-stik Premier Stocksbridge Park Steels have pre-season games against the likes of Wednesday (July 17), Rotherham United ( August 1) and Barnsley (July 24).

Parkgate FC face Rotherham United on July 14 as part of their preparations.

They will also take part in the Teversal FC tournament in Nottinghamshire for the second time in two campaigns.

Others confirmed in the competition include Maltby Main, Staveley Miners Welfare and Handsworth FC.
