Worksop Town eased into the semi finals of the Sheffield Senior Cup with a 3-0 home win over Staveley Miners Welfare with all the goals coming in the first 45 minutes.
Lee Beeson headed the home side in front on 20 minutes. Jamie Jackson, who had started the game on the bench, then doubled the advantage two minutes before the break before Beeson rifled home the third from the edge of the area on the stroke of half time.
County Senior side Penistone Church pulled off a surprise 2-1 win at Hemsworth MW of the Baris NCEL Division One.
Church led at the break through Mitch Savage’s excellent 18th minute strike. Alvin Riley celebrated his birthday by doubling the visitors lead from the penalty spot on 70 minutes before Hemsworth reduced their arrears courtesy of a Scott Briggs own goal.
Penistone and Worksop join Sheffield FC and Frickley Athletic in the last four.
In the NCEL Premier Division, Parkgate drew 3-3 at Tadcaster Albion. Brian Cusworth, Ashley Worsfold and Janni Lipka were on target for the Steelmen.
Dinnington Town kept up their excellent run of form winning 5-2 at Division One promotion hopefuls Albion Sports to make it seven wins from the last eight.
