He was named as joint-manager alongside Steve Whitehead who was Hindley’s assistant during his first spell at the club before Whitehead stepped up to become manager.

"Me and Steve (Whitehead) had been talking for a while and just felt it was the right time,” said Hindley.

"It's a great club with great people and for me, I have unfinished business at Hallam.

"I’m very excited and can’t wait to get started.”

Hindley spent two-and-a-half years in charge before leaving the Countrymen for Worksop Town in May 2017, but stepped down after just seven months in charge before taking over at Rossington Main.

He is credited with turning Hallam’s fortunes around taking over when they were bottom of the table, subsequently reaching the play-offs in his two full seasons in charge.

Hallam will be hoping it will help give the club a lift as they look to get their promotion push back on track and there would be no better way than beating the leaders.

"We want to try and make sure we build on the last two results,” said boss Chris Hilton.

"Just because they are bottom doesn’t mean it will be any easier, as we’ve seen in the past, so we have to make sure we’re on our game from the first whistle to the last.”
