Despite last week's surprise 3-0 defeat at Sutton Coldfield, Steels are handily-placed in sixth in the BetVictor South East Division.

The Bracken Moor club then travel to Frickley Athletic on Boxing Day, as part of a full fixture list that day.

And the decision to play games so close together as well as on New Year's Day has incurred the wrath of Steels' boss Chris Hilton.

“I don’t mind the Boxing Day game so much as you’ve spent time with the family before on Christmas Day,” he said.

“I do think the New Year’s Day fixture should go though. Most of the lads will go to bed very late because they’re out celebrating then have to get up the next day to travel to a game.

“The problem is that we are treated like professional clubs when we’re just working lads playing football.”

Sheffield FC travel to Newcastle Town looking to extend their unbeaten away run to eight games.

Club have been in good form on the road where they have lost just twice in ten outings. They will be raring to go after last week's clash with Worksop was postponed.

Boss Gavin Smith said: "While you’re always frustrated when a game gets called off, it has allowed a few players to recover from knocks.

"So we’ll go to Newcastle with a fully-fit squad. Hopefully we can start the festive period on a winning note."

Hallam’s last game before Christmas sees them entertain neighbours Parkgate with just a point separating the two teams.

Steve Whitehead’s men go into the clash in 11th spot. The two teams shared the points from a 1-1 draw in the reverse meeting in September but another similar result will do neither side any favours.

Handsworth play their third successive away game when they visit on-form Barton Town who are unbeaten in the last four.

The Ambers will be full of confidence after picking up two points from goalless draws at high-flying Penistone Church and Hemsworth MW.
